課程概述

This course is designed to facilitate research abilities of doctoral students and to help student to expedite the process of developing their own research proposal for dissertation.
Each student will present in the class an overview of their recent work on one interested topic, critique methodology of previous research, identify gap in the literature, and propose a research idea to fill the gap. Moreover, it is required for students to present their study in English in order to enhance their ability to conduct an oral presentation in international conferences.
Credit hour: 1 semester credit

課程目標
The overall goal of this class is to facilitate research abilities and to help doctoral students in developing their own research. Each student will present in the class an overview of their recent work on one interested topic, critique methodology of previous research, identify gap in the literature, and propose a research idea to fill the gap. Moreover, it is required for students to present their study in English in order to enhance their ability to conduct an oral presentation in international conferences.

At the end of the course, the students will be able to:
1. evaluate and integrate research papers with efficiency;
2. develop critical thinking ability;
3. demonstrate the ability to construct a research proposal;
4. translate nursing concepts to research;
5. conduct an oral presentation in English. 
課程要求
1. Attendance (10%)
2. Presentation (30%)
Please prepare a precise 20 minutes presentation and respond to the comments and open discussion for another 20 minutes. Please send your presentation materials to the commentator and upload file to CEIBA one week prior to your presentation. Presenters are highly recommended to discuss with their mentors prior to the presentations.
3. Comments of the presentation (20%)
The role of commentators is to raise questions and make insightful comments to further contribute to the quality of the presentation.
4. Written assignment on the topic of your presentation (40%)
A publishable manuscript writing in the APA (6th ed.) style is due on January 18th (Monday), 2016.
